I tend to agree with that. MT4 is like the old reliable but MT5 has all the new bells and whistles. If you're just starting, MT4 might be easier to grasp.
So I'm mainly looking for something that has a lot of resources and a supportive community. Does one have a bigger user base?
MT4 definitely has a larger user base and more online resources, because it was released back in 2005. You'll find tons of forums, tutorials, and free EAs online. Plus, the community is huge and pretty helpful.
